Minor Atom Colts Finalists at the Canadiens Cup
The Minor Atom Colts had an excellent tournament in Toronto this weekend: the Junior Canadiens Cup. They played some great games against some very good teams, and they ended up as finalists in the tournament.
Our team, sporting pink tape on their sticks in support of breast cancer awareness month, went 3-1 in the first round of the Canadiens Cup this weekend in Toronto. They beat the Guelph Gryphons, Toronto Junior Canadiens and the Huron Perth Lakers while only losing to the Vaughan Kings. The Colts found themselves in the number two spot after the first round. They ended up facing the Toronto Junior Canadiens in the semi-finals on Sunday morning. They won this game by a score of 7-0.
The championship game saw the Colts in a rematch against the Vaughan Kings. The boys came out ready to play; however, they unfortunately found themselves down 3-0 after the first period. They battled hard in the second and third periods, but came out on the losing end of a 5-3 score to a talented team.
The Colts looks forward to three practices this week before facing Markham and Richmond Hill on Thanksgiving weekend. Thank you for all of the great fan support this weekend.
Go Colts!!
