Sports Medicine - Marble Slab Bantam AAA Colts get overtime win for a big 4 point weekend.
The Sports Medicine - Marble Slab Bantam AAA Colts started their OMHA finals series with Clarington over the weekend and as expect played two very tough hockey games.

The Colts and Toros opened their series on Saturday in Clarington who has home ice advantage for the series.  The teams played a very faced paced and hard hitting first period.  The Toros struck first when they scored at the 9 minute mark of the second period and held that 1 goal advantage into the third period.  The Colts tied the game at the 12 minute mark of the third period when Richard Whittaker scored after a great line battle deep in the Clarington zone.  The assists went to Christian Taylor and Ben Beausaert.  Just 3 minutes later, the Colts found themselves on the power play and Barret Kirwin beat the Clarington goalie on a great individual effort and the Colts were up 2-1.  The Toros pushed back but Jacob Ingham stood his ground to secure the 2-1 win.

On Sunday night, the Colts hosted the Toros for game 2 at the Barrie Molson Center.  As expected, both teams came out hard, each trying to set the pace.
As the teams exchanged chances and the physical play continued to impress, the Toros scored first, half way through the third period.  The Colts did not break though, continuing to battle and it paid off at the 3 minute mark when Kirwin beat the Toros goalie with a great shot to tie the game at 1-1.  The assist went to Connor Corcoran.
Off to overtime they went and just over a minute into the overtime period, Jacob Kelly made a great play to get around a Toros defenseman and beat the Toros goalie five-hole to secure the 2-1 win for the Colts.  Assists on the game winning goal went to Tanner Mayne and Jacob Roberti.  Parker Simpson was spectacular late in the game to give the Colts a chance to battle for the win.

The Colts and Toros continue their series on Wednesday night when the Colts travel to Darlington for game 3.
