A message from Hugh Campbell, Chairman re Vice Chair of Hockey Operations:
As a result of Tom Bly being appointed by the OMHA executive to the position of Chair of the Coaching Program for the OMHA, Tom will be stepping down as Vice- Chair of Hockey Operations for the Barrie AAA Zone. It is with regret that we are losing the dedication, knowledge and experience that Tom has brought to our Association. His many years of service with us have made our Hockey Programs better in all areas such as coaching and development, making us a leader within the ETA. Tom will continue to assist the Executive and Hockey Operations in an advisory role moving forward.

With Tom's departure from our Executive, we are now looking for applicants for the position of Vice-Chair of Hockey Operations for Barrie AAA Zone Hockey. The successful applicant will be appointed by the Executive for the balance of this year and the position will be up for election at our 2018 AGM. This position will require a candidate with a strong background in all aspects of Hockey Operations including development, coaching, mentoring coaches, OMHA rules and general day to day managing of our hockey season.

For further reference below are the duties as described in our Bylaws:
The Vice-Chair Hockey Operations shall assume the duties of the Chairperson in the absence for any reason of the Chairperson, be the secondary contact for the OMHA and monitor adherence by the Board to all existing Policies and inform the Board with respect to any inconsistencies between existing Policies and a proposed policy. He/she shall also responsible for establishing, implementing and evaluating on ice and off ice technical development programs and recruiting and training volunteers to perform the functions required for technical development. The Vice-Chair Hockey Operations shall be responsible for the procedures of recruiting, interviewing and recommending coaches and other team staff for all teams of the Association, shall liaise with the Referee In Chief, the OMHA concerning the coach mentor program and carry out other duties as assigned by the Board, or the Chairperson.
