New Chairman of Barrie AAA Zone Hockey
On March 1, 2021 the Executive has appointed Greg Hotham as the new Chairman of the Barrie AAA Zone Hockey Association until the AGM in June at which time an election will take place.

Greg has been involved in the hockey world most of his life and will bring a wealth of knowledge with him.

Briefly, he played professional hockey for 14 years with 6 years in the NHL with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Pittsburgh Penguins, was an assistant coach for the Barrie Colts Tier 2 in the early 90’s, coached AAA hockey in Barrie for 5 years in the 90’s, was on the  Barrie Country Club Board of Directors from 2010-2017,  President of the Barrie Country Club in 2012 and on the Ontario Golf Association Board of Directors in 2014.   Greg currently serves on the Toronto Maple Leaf Alumni Board of Directors (2001- present) and is the Toronto Maple Leaf Alumni President (2020- present).

Greg’s experience will be a valuable asset to the Barrie AAA Zone program and we look forward to his leadership as we continue to work our way through the restrictions to provide a hockey program for our players and families.

And with this appointment, we say goodbye to Hugh Campbell who is retiring after 35+ years of dedicated service to minor hockey.   Thank you doesn't seem to be enough for his commitment to the Barrie AAA Zone since it’s inception in 1996 when he served as chairman for the first year.  Hugh was again elected as chairman in 2007 and held the position since that time.  Over the last 12 months he has carried the load of leadership through COVID with strength and thoughtfulness.  He has always ensured we are doing what is best for the child athletes.   Hugh has lead the Board with dignity and inclusiveness which ensures we make the best decisions for our hockey community.  The Barrie AAA Zone will be forever indebted to Hugh.
