2021-22 Season Start-Up
Please see the message below from Greg Hotham, Barrie AAA Zone Chairman.

Dear AAA Parents and Players

The Barrie Colts AAA Zone Executive hope that you and your family have had a great summer and are safe and healthy. We know that you have been wondering what’s going on with respect to registration, tryouts and scheduling for this coming season and hopefully this correspondence will give you some of that information.

This year, Hockey Canada instituted a new system that looks after registrations, coaches certifications etc and they have had issues with this new system that have prevented all associations in registering players to date as well as coaches getting their updated coaches certificates. Further, necessary documentation for PTS and NRP forms haven’t been released yet by the OMHA to home centers.   We wish we could give you a date that we can go live but at this point we don’t have that information. Once we have the go ahead, we will let you know through our website and social media

As many of you may know, the City of Barrie were using 2 arena facilities , Holly 2 and East Bayfield, as vaccination and storage sites which threatened our ice time in October. Thankfully the City has informed us those sites will be back up and running and we will have our normal October ice. However, there are a few other organizations in the ETA that are in the same situation that we were and because of that we don’t know at this point when the scheduling will take place and when the start of the season will start.

However, we are still having our tryouts in September as planned, starting on Sept 10th for U12 ( Minor Peewee) all the way to U18( Major Midget) and Sept 13th for U11 and under.  There will be 4 tryouts within a 7 day period and times will be announced very soon.

Please note: All players must register with their home center first before tryouts. For example, If you live in Barrie, you must register with Barrie Minor Hockey first. This is to ensure, in case your son or daughter does not make AAA, they have a place to play.

Enjoy the rest of the summer and we’ll see you in September at tryouts
