Colts split weekend games on the road in Quinte and Kingston.
The Barrie Colts Minor Midget AAA team travelled to Quinte and Kingston over the weekend to play their first games against the east this season.
The Colts stopped in Belleville first on Saturday afternoon to play the Quinte Red Devils.  As they prepared for the game, cutting and taping sticks, they knew they would be in for a battle all weekend long.

The Colts opened the scoring first in Belleville when Barret Kirwin finished a pass from Rhys Brown early in the first period.
Quinte tied the game while on the power play at the 4:34 mark of the first.
As the second got underway, Quinte made a few trips to the penalty box and the Colts took advantage as Brown scored his first of the night on the power play with assists to Braden Henderson and Matt Nastasiuk.
Kirwin when scored his second of the night, also on the power play with assists to Brown and Nastasiuk.
The Colts held the 3-1 late into the third period and with 2 minutes left and the Quinte net empty, Brown finished off a 4 point night with an empty netter and the Colts took a 4-1 win to start the road trip.

On Sunday afternoon, Colts were in Kingston to play the Frontenac's.  Both teams came out hard exchanging chances through the first period.  The Colts seem to take over play and a decisive edge in shots but could not find the back of the Kingston net.  At the 13 minute mark of the third, Kingston scored on the power play and that proved to be enough.  Kingston scored two empty net goals to take the game 3-0.

The Colts are back in action this weekend when they travel to London to compete in the Wendy Dufton Memorial tournament.
