Marble Slab - Sports Medicine Bantam AAA Colts sweep season series with Toros.
The Marble Slab - Sports Medicine Bantam AAA Colts hosted the Clarington Toro's on Saturday afternoon in Barrie for their second and final game of their regular season series. The Colts took game one of the series in November posting a 3-0 shutout win and were looking for a similar result on Saturday.
The Colts came out of the gate strong scoring two power play goals in the first period. The Colts maintained an advantage in the shot category and built a 3-0 lead on the Toro's.
The Colts then found themselves in a bit of penalty trouble which allowed a very good Toro's team to get right back into the game.
The Colts took a 3-2 lead late into the third period. Clarington had a late power play which the Colts killed off with some strong defensive play and great goaltending by Parker Simpson.
When the snow settled, the Colts took the game 3-2, winning the season series with the Toro's, not an easy task.
The Colts are back in action after Christmas at the Marlies Tournament in Toronto.
