The Marble Slab - Sports Medicine Bantam AAA Colts get "Nasty" after home loss to YSE
The Marble Slab - Sport Medicine Bantam AAA Colts hosted the league leading York Simcoe Express Friday night at East Bayfield to start off a 3 game weekend.
YSE opened the scoring in the first period as both teams pushed the pace in a very fast hard hitting game.
The Colts tied up the game at 1-1 late in the second period.
York Simcoe pushed back, taking a 2-1 lead just 40 seconds later and the teams continued to battle and trade chances.
York Simcoe scored a third 5 minutes into the third period and although the Colts outshot the Express, they could just not get one into the back of the net. The Express skated to a 3-1 road win.
On Saturday night, the Colts hosted the Oshawa Generals and had to get a little "Nasty" !!
Well, on the score sheet anyway !!
The Colts scored first and scored often, taking a 1-0 lead just a minute into the game. The team was led by Matt "Nasty" Nastasiuk who notched 5 goals, finishing off some great plays by a number of team mates. Christian Taylor notched the 'hatty' finishing off the Colts scoring as they took the game 8-0.
Jacob Ingham was solid in net for the shutout and the defence core was very strong in the Colts end.
The Colts finish off the weekend hosting the Ajax - Pickering Raiders on Sunday night at Holy, puck drop at 7:00 pm.
